Annis Abraham : Not impressed by Cardiff yet a win is what matters

My View/Opinion

NOT IMPRESSED BY CARDIFF AT ALL/YET A WIN IS 3PTS/THATS WHAT MATTERS .

City struggled tonight to get the win our fans have been waiting for, for a long time, against a very very poor Wigan team, but for me this was the win that will now keep us up, I will repeatedly say that Russell Slade needs to go in May, No later please.

Wigan had 2 goals disallowed, looked the better team at times, I was not impressed at all by City, but we have the win and 3 points at this stage of this season is what matters.

Crowd 10,016 including about 300 City fans.

Cardiff City Team : Marshall, Ralls, Morrison, Manga, Connolly, Noone, Whittingham, Gunnarsson, Kennedy, Jones, Doyle

Subs : Moore, John, O’Keefe, Adeyemi, Harris, McAleny, Revell

About 300 Cardiff made this long trip and many sang songs for Malky to do the Ayatollah and do the fist pump Malky responded with an applause , City Fans cheered their team on continually all night.

Vincent Tan had asked all Directors not to go in the Wigan Directors box tonight,so Steve Borley persuaded CEO Ken Choo to travel up and go in the City fans end. Choo wore a Blue/White scarf.

So tonight we were facing our ex manager Malky Mackay who had achieved so much for City, but he had left our club under a cloud of controversy and some still believed he should of never been sacked including myself and there are many who were happy he had gone.

Cardiff went in to this game with only 1 win from their last 13 League game but they are unbeaten in their last 4 League games.

Wigan had not won at home since August with their last 13 home results seeing 6 draws and 7 losses. They had lost 6 out of their last 7 at the DW Stadium. In the 13 games they had scored 8 & conceded 18. They look already doomed to relegation,so City were surely going to get their first win in 2015 tonight.

I was a bit shocked to see no Peltier? But glad to see Declan John included again.

The first 15 mins was a nothing game, then Gunnarson in the 20th went straight at the Wigan defence and it looked like he went through 4 players and bang 1 nil Cardiff City, what a great goal.

Whittingham continued to cut out Wigans attacks by ex City player Kimbo, who continually looked a threat.

Wigan had lots of possession, but they looked poor at the back, the pitch was an awful state.

Wigan had a goal ruled offside in the 38th minute, but were looking more and more threatening.

Aron Gunnarsson’s 20th minute goal was the difference in a scrappy game by half -time.

Half-time Wigan 0 City 1

Once again both teams cancelled each other out,Noone continued to go missing, whilst Gunnarson got booked, but was battling for everything.

Trollope continually gave Slade bits of advice all through the game.

Kennedy like in his previous game did well tonight.

65th minute Kenwyne Jones came off with Alex Revell on.

It was now City defending against a poor Wigan side with David Marshall making a good low save to his right.

For the second time Wigan had a goal disallowed for off side/controversial.

79th minute Kadeem Harris came on for Doyle.

Marshall saving City near the end.

City were holding out and the 3pts was all that mattered.

Yes we got the 3pts,just about and I mean just about.

Full time Wigan 0 Cardiff City 1

My man of the match Gunnarson, for the goal and he battling performance.

Up next Wolves home on Saturday.
