Carling Cup Final 2012

Liverpool beat a courageous Cardiff City side in Sunday’s Carling Cup Final in a penalty shootout, after an extra time equaliser kept City in the game.

Joe Mason opening the scoring for the Bluebirds inside 20 minutes after a great pass by Kenny Miller.
It took Liverpool until the 60th minute to score, with Skrtel equalising to take the game to extra time.

Kuyt score early in the second half of extra time with that looked to be the winning goal. Cardiff City however kept battling, and the equaliser eventually came from Ben Turner from close range.

Unfortunately Liverpool went on to win the Penalty lottery 3-2, despite missing their first two penalties.
