” Is Cardiff City now tainted? ”

Following on from Carl’s post ‘3 major mistakes,’ surely mistakes have long-term repercussions.

Also following on from a WOL article, ‘Use the loan market’ with examples of Boro & Brentford utilising the loan market with great effect. I pose this question, Does anyone believe Owners/Chairmen will be doing business with Cardiff this summer with Tan’s best interests at heart?

Tan ensured that the Cardiff City board boycotted Wigan in protest at Whelan’s naivety when addressing the press in defence of Malky. Indeed, according to Tan, Wigan are summed up as “a racist chairman hiring a racist manager.” The FA were ‘satisfied’ Whelan is no racist.

Wigan Athletic spent along time in the Premier League, dealing with the top clubs, acquiring loan deals, transfers, and selling there best players on. Effectively, making good contacts within the game. Making an enemy of this club is not beneficial. People within the same circles talk.

Vincent thought he found a friend in Jose Mourinho upon meeting him, he asked for a bit of insider information on hot talents, he got Etien Velikonja via Jose’s agent Jorge Mendes for around £3.5mil.

The goodwill is not there for star loan signings such as Bamford to be acquired by Slade & Tan. Tan is not, and it is doubtful if he will ever be in a position where favours are afforded him. Slade only has ‘contacts’ within the lower leagues. Certainly, he will never be able to pull off a transfer like Brendan Rodgers/Huw Jenkins did with Scott Sinclair @ £500,000 to £1mil. That type of value does not exist for Tan & Slade.

What contacts has the club made under Tan? It is plausible that he is not only unpopular in the media, but within the game itself. Bad hand of cards being dealt for the upcoming transfer window?
