The club say they know what they are doing.

So pre season has started, the players are back in training but apart from Semi Ajayi, who signed a permanent deal from Arsenal, it’s the same set of players who remained at the club at the end of last season.

In fact Ajayi ended the season on loan here so he’s technically a returning player as well.

Cardiff play their first pre season friendly in 10 days time at Forest Green Rovers. Before that Russell Slade is taking his squad to Champneys Health Resort in Leicestershire for a week of training sessions aimed at getting the squad fitter.

But it seems that we are likely to lose a player from the squad before we get any more in.

The move back to blue, a superb stadium and reasonable season ticket sales are all well and good but now the team has to deliver on the pitch if the stadium is to attract more ticket sales.
