Carl Curtis : A number of bids received for City star
Cardiff City have received actual bids, not just interest shown, that have been over £1m for striker Adam Le Fondre.
The club are hopeful of getting around £2m for Le Fondre.
The bids received for the striker have come from clubs in the South of the country and as we know Le Fondre wants to move North.
The club don’t want to sell for £1m, Le Fondre doesn’t want to play in the South. If there are no improved bids or nothing comes from a Northern club then Cardiff City may have to try and do a deal with one of the clubs who have already bid.
But surely that will leave Le Fondre with a decision to make, does he move on but not to a destination he wishes to go or will he be faced with the possibility of playing with the reserves ?
Hopefully it will turn out well for both the club and Le Fondre but it could just end up being an awkward situation where we are stuck with a player that we don’t want and Le Fondre’s career put on hold.
Regarding Johnny Russell, I am told that Russell Slade is very much an admirer of the Derby County star but the Rams valuation of the Scottish international is a problem.
Slade wants Russell but City will not meet Derby’s valuation despite Slade’s hopes of trying to land him, so unless Derby lower the asking price then it seems our manager will be left disappointed.
