Ned Thomas : Not convincing but in the hat

We picked a strong side tonight, so it looks like Slade is taking the League Cup seriously. And he will be happy that we progressed to the 2nd round in front of 6,314.

It was no great performance from City, with very few impressing. It took a great free-kick from Craig Noone bang on half time to win the game. Kenwyne Jones should have added a 2nd late on.

Kenwyne worked hard when he came on, and was crucial at defending set pieces. Other positives are hard to come by other than the performances of Sammy Ameobi and Craig Noone.

Gunnarsson, O’Keefe, Morrrison and Connolly weren’t great. Wilson had very little to do. Don’t even get me started on Revell!

Decent following by Wimbledon and they made some noise.

Overall, it was great but good to see City in the next round. Would be nice to have a cup run as I think a mid-table finish is likely in the league.

Next up QPR away on Saturday evening.
