By Carl Curtis
Russell Slade has now managed Cardiff City for 45 league matches.
This Saturday October 17th will see Russell Slade take charge of his 46th match away to Preston North End.
Slade was appointed Bluebirds manager on October 6th 2014 and his first official match as manager took place on Saturday October 18th versus Nottingham Forest which the Bluebirds won 2-1.
The former Leyton Orient manager’s record at Cardiff City reads :
Played 45,
Won 17 (10 home, 7 away)
Drawn 14 (6 home, 8 away)
Lost 17 (7 home, 7 away)
Points 65.
Breaking down the results into last season and this reads :
2014/15 :
Played 35,
Won 13 (7 home, 6 away)
Drawn 10 (5 home, 5 away)
Lost 12 (6 home, 6 away)
Points 49.
Last season we averaged 1.4 points per game, which based over 46 games would have seen City finish with 64 points.
Last season 6th placed team, Ipswich, finished the season on 78 points.
2015/16 :
Played 10,
Won 4 (3 home, 1 away)
Drawn 4 (1 home, 3 away)
Lost 2 (1 home, 1 away)
Points 16.
This season we are averaging 1.6 points per game and base that over 46 games would see City finish with 74 points.
These are the facts of Slade’s time so far at City, there is certainly an improvement on this season based on current points per game ratio.
