Can’t figure it out

‘ CAN’T FIGURE IT OUT ‘

Still struggling to come to terms with drawing today after leading 2-0 at half time.

The first half Sheffield Wednesday looked a very ordinary team and City were not in full flow but deservedly led at half time.

Against Burnley two weeks ago, we were under pressure at 2-0 and could sense that the unlikely would happen and it did but this afternoon I thought we were dominant, in control and couldn’t see Wednesday mounting a comeback.

My criticism today is that after earning the lead several City players stopped doing the basics and in particular we stopped closing down, we allowed Wednesday players to have time on the ball, we went through a spell in the second half of losing 50/50 challenges.

Fortunately for us most results went our way and we are just one point outside the play offs.

Attacking wise we are showing a lot more promise than we were just several weeks ago but the defensive part of our game has got worse which was our strong point.

Points are won and lost on tight margins and like a few occasions this season we haven’t handled in play changes by the opposition and it happened again today. We are not reacting to tactical changes of systems and this will prove costly unless we can overcome it.

City need consistency now and a win against Brentford at home on Tuesday is must.
