We deserved more
‘ We deserved more ‘

City turned up with two changes from Tuesday night, Malone replaced Fabio and Ameobi took Noone’s starting spot.
The first half I felt City enjoyed the majority of the play and were better than Birmingham but we lacked the cutting edge up top.
Tony Watt is going to be a fans favourite for sure and despite not having his best game in his short spell with City, he certainly is a trier.
Despite enjoying the majority of the play City succumbed to a referee’s decision that was more than harsh on the bluebirds.
Marshall dropped the cross and after a scramble in the box a shot came that Matthew Connolly defended with his face but the ref believed it was his hands that did.
It was in the 45th minute and it was a big blow for City but I still felt that City would get something from the game.
The second half and City were under pressure for the first 10 mins.
Birmingham were pretty poor in their build up play but as a shape defended pretty well and you could see that they were desperate not to lose the game rather than take the game to City.
Birmingham played like an away side would typically play in my opinion.
I am disappointed to lose, like I would be for any result, but I don’t think we deserved to lose tonight if I am honest.
Ok, we were not as attacking as we have been in recent home matches but it was an ok performance that didn’t quite get the desired results, there were opportunities for City tonight but they didn’t fall our way.
Strange as it sounds, after a defeat, I feel quietly confident that City will get something out of this season. Hope I am right.
