City went into this game on the back of a 1-0 home win against Blackburn, while Shrewsbury lost 7-1 at Chesterfield. We were looking at this game as one we should win comfortably and by at least three or four goals.

Russell Slade made changes with Whittingham, Macheda, Revell and O’Keefe especially being given a game. But it was a very strong team.

1st minute should be 1-0 Shrewsbury. Blazes over

14th minute First real chance for City, Revell shot blocked for a corner. Ameobi shoots wide from the corner

19th minute Shrewsbury come close again but curl a free kick over

First 20 minutes quite even, but Shrewsbury doing more with their play that City are with ours

23rd minute Revell should score on rebound from Macheda’s shot saved by keeper

26th minute Ameobi nearly opens scoring but hits the post

38th minute Macheda shoots just over from distance

Half time 0-0

For me that first half was very poor from us. We needed to do more in the final third or we could have been on the end of an upset here. Revell has been very poor but to be fair to Ameobi and Macheda, they tried to make things happen.

50th minute Tamas shoots straight at the goalkeeper from 25 yards

60th minute The game has gone dead, BUT

62nd minute Shrewsbury take the lead through a header from Andy Mangan :imshocked:

63rd minute Kennedy on for Dikgacoi

71st minute City in a good position but Ameobi wastes it

73rd minute Macheda should score but has his one-on-one saved

74th minute Noone on for Fabio. City fans sing “you don’t know what you’re doing”

79th minute Nearly 2-0, ball goes inches wide

80th minute Mason on for Revell

O’Keefe shot saved by keeper

87th minute Kennedy shoots just over

90th minute Manga heads just wide

Result Cardiff City 0-1 Shrewsbury
My man of the match Nobody deserves it, but if I had to say someone I’d say Macheda
