” CARDIFF CITY’S BRILLIANT HOME RUN CONTINUED TODAY ”

City now 7th and 3pts from the play-offs.

City deservedly went in one nil up at half-time and continued in the second half to battle for every ball and create chances.

Sadly the singing was non stop, but it came from the 800 plus Preston fans.

City are now 13 games undefeated at home and are closing in on the play-offs.

City deservedly won today and well done to Slade and the players today’s.

City started this game undefeated in their last 12 home league games and the best home run for 13 years, whilst the visitors Preston arrived as the inform team in the Championship, where we in for a cracker of a game?

Fabio was withdrawn having pulled his groin and Whittingham was also missing.

A quite start by both sides until Gunnarson had our first shot on target in the 16th min which was easily saved by the Preston goalie.
Pilkington hit the post in the 28th min with Immers kicking the rebound wide.

41st min Immers headed wide.

City got what they deserved in the 43rd min Pilkigton was brought down and then converted the penalty 1-0 City.
Half-time City 1 Preston 0

The first 15 mins was end to end with Pilkington having the best chance with a half volley saved by the Preston goalie.

Preston had a goal disallowed in the 63rd min for offside which got the Cardiff fans singing and taking the mick out of the 800 odd Preston fans who had not stopped singing.

80th min Lawrence was pulled back in the penalty area and the linesman flagged for a penalty which Pilkington put away again 2-0 City.

82nd min Pilkington was replaced by Dikgacoi

In the 87th min City went to sleep 1-2.

City deservedly went on to win the game.
My man of the match Pilkington.
