That could prove to be a significant win this afternoon, we played one more game than Ipswich heading into today’s encounter level on points, with a better goal difference of seven goals, we may look back on these three points as pivotal in our race to the play offs.

Ipswich would have gone 3 points ahead with a game in hand but Russell Slade and the players made sure City didn’t slip away and responded to the midweek defeat to Leeds in perfect fashion.

It was not vintage football at all but it was effective and at the stage of the season we are at, then result is all that matters.

That said City did look the better of the two teams and deserved the victory this afternoon.

City don’t play until next Saturday but their opponents Reading play on Tuesday night so there is an obvious advantage to us there.

Derby County let a three goal lead slip against Rotherham this afternoon and next week face the rivals Nottingham Forest.

If City can better Derby’s result next Saturday then our next home game at the beginning of April against Derby will be massive in that we can overtake the Rams in the league.

Only nine games to go and City are looking like a settled unit and I really can see us claiming a play off spot.

One game at a time but confidence is growing and the team are performing well.

Get behind the manager and the team for the remaining nine games and hopefully we will be looking forward to the lottery of the play offs.
