AS A RECORD ATTENDANCE TURNED UP, CARDIFF CITY BEAT 5TH PLACED DERBY COUNTY

Official attendance at Cardiff City is a record 28,680.

Marshall hardly had a shot to safe as Derby County looked very ordinary for a 5th placed team.

City deserved todays victory and can go to Burnley on Tuesday night very confident.

Lets hope the majority of the 28,680 crowd return for the QPR HOME GAME.

CITY FANS SANG AND CHEERED THEIR TEAM OF THE PITCH.

CARDIFF CITY 2 DERBY COUNTY 1

Crowd 28,680
Away Support 1,620

Team : Marshall, Peltier, Malone, Morrison, Manga, O’Keefe, Ralls, Whittingham, Noone, Immers and Pilkington.

Subs : Moore, Fabio, Dikgacoi, Gunnarsson, Ameobi, Lawrence and Zohore.
This was billed as City’s biggest game for two years, with Derby 5th in the Championship and City 7th,5 points behind Derby and with Cardiff’s biggest home crowd for two years,Slade’s team had to deliver today.
City made a good start with Ralls having two good shots and City taking the game to Derby.

Then for the next 20 mins the game was a bit stale.

Atmosphere wise so far quite.

Derby very ordinary so far and not a save for Marshall to make at this point.

Then 37th min Whitts corner,Manga powerful header one nil City.

45th min handbags with the players and City gained a free kick, but Pilkington booked, Whitts whipped it in,but to no avail.

City went in at half-time 1-0 and deserved it.

Derby offered nothing.

City 1 shot on target, Derby 0.

Half-time CCFC 1 Derby 0

Derby came out and City looked asleep,Marshall slow and bang 49th min header over the top 1-1 😮

Then Craig Noone one on one and missed a sitter.

68th min Whittingham corner, headed down and Stuart O’Keefe turned and bang 2-1 City.

Derby then came at Cardiff, but no real threat upfront.

78th min Gunnarsson on for Pilkington.

Back and for, both teams were going for it.

88th min Dikgacoi came on for Okeefe.

Lawrence on for Noone in 90th min.

Derby were poor over all and City deserved the victory.

Full-time CARDIFF CITY 2 DERBY COUNTY 1

My man of the match Lex Immers.

Up next a tough trip to Burnley on Tuesday night.
