It was a disappointing result and it was the early equaliser in the second half which made it so difficult for us. Slade had to gamble and I fully understand the logic in going for 3 points rather than sticking with 1. Going for the win always puts you in danger to the sucker punch and it happened as it always seems to do with us.

Slade has done a fantastic job this season and his detractors hide away until they get the opportunity to have a pop. We lose one game and out they come ignoring all the good he has done and simply call for another manager and manic spending of money we don’t have.

We can wish all we like for Neil Warnock or Tony Pullis for that matter but the reality is they will never manage Cardiff City and surely we have learnt our lesson with regard to reckless spending and the simple fact is £20m to invest in the playing squad just simply doesn’t exist.

CCFC have made good honest progression this season and even if we fail to make the play-offs we should be proud of that progress. Slade is a safe pair of hands and we need a manager like that at this point in our comeback from the brutal Premiership relegation and divisive rebrand.
