Cardiff City and Iceland Captain Aron Gunnarsson who shone in the Euros with his all action, never say die attitude and his long throws which caught many Countries defences out, will now have a short break before he returns to his club Cardiff City for pre-season training. Gunnarsson’s country, Iceland went out of the Euros 5-2 last night to France.

Gunnarsson will surely have won a first team start for Cardiff City next season.

Previous manager Russell Slade was not a fan of Gunnarsson and there for Gunnarsson struggled to play for City in the Championship last season.
Paul Trollope is giving every player a fresh chance to prove themselves and surely Gunnarsson has just done that.

The bad news is that Gunnarsson has been carrying a slight injury to his back and will need to have a bit of a rest, plus treatment from the Cardiff City backroom staff. Hopefully Gunnarsson’s injury will be all cleared up over the next four weeks.

Cardiff City will need a leader like Aron Gunnarsson in next years tough Championship.
