Nothing but praise tonight
Ole surprised me again today with his team selection and tactics. I really didn’t expect him to change from the 5-3-2 formation after the much improved performance against Spurs. I didn’t think Cala would be dropped but fair play to Ole he worked his magic with the team and it paid off handsomely.
For the first 20 minutes I was concerned that Fulham were breaking through the midfield and our defence were standing off the runners coming through but from 25 minutes onwards we played some good football ourselves and Ole’s attack minded football was beginning to show through.
Fraizer Campbell worked his socks off yet again for the cause and I really hope he manages to get credited for the third goal, though I suspect it may possibly go down as an own goal.
The atmosphere today, once it got going, was good. The songs were more focused on the team than anything else and more fans got involved with the singing.
It was do or die today and judging by the Fulham players’ reaction at the end of the game suggested they have accepted they are relegated. Our players showed character and fight to kick on after the equaliser and that must stand us in good stead for the remainder of the season.
Ole has managed to record Cardiff City’s biggest win in the Premier League and he is starting to put his stamp on the team. I don’t give two hoots who we’re playing and what their league position is, it’s all about points and Ole got us three desperate ones today.
That victory could just be a catalyst for what we need to kick on and get those four vital wins needed.
If we can get even one point out of Everton or the Liverpool game then I will be a very happy Bluebird.
It was great to celebrate goals and a victory this afternoon and I am going to enjoy the evening.
