Annis Abraham : My main worries but we can still stay up
Yesterday we showed great desire against Everton and for some stages of the game we matched them, same at Spurs away, but once again we didn’t get anything for our efforts.
We are once again relying on David Marshall match after match, not just one spectacular save in every game but many.
We have not picked up one single point away from home under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, now that is very worrying. We need to pick up points on our travels if we are to stay up and that will mean winning at either WBA, Southampton, Sunderland or Newcastle, can it be done? Of course it can.
I dont usually moan about decisions and luck but I honestly dont feel like we get many decisions going our way by referees at away grounds, there were some particularly very poor decisions yesterday.
To stay up we need to beat Crystal Palace and Stoke at home without a doubt. We also need to get a point off teams like Liverpool or Chelsea at home. All the other teams around us pick up points off the teams in the top half of the division and thats why we are failing to catch up or go above them. We have not taken one single point of them this year, another worry, but It can be done, like I say the other relegation teams have been getting the points.
I believe we have got the players capable of keeping us up and on their day they can beat or draw with most teams in this division and it has to start now with Liverpool at home next Saturday. We cant all go in to this game saying, “its Liverpool we’ve lost this one, but we will be okay as we will win at WBA etc “, it doesnt work like that. Ole, the players and our fans have to believe.
We beat Manchester City at home, drew with Everton and Manchester United at home, so why cant we get something from the Liverpool home game.
I believe 4 wins and a couple of draws and we will stay up, it’s not impossible, it can be done, its now time to turn these improved performances into results.
