Is Cardiff City Manager Paul Trollope likely to be in charge after the international break?
The Bluebirds Committee had hoped Paul Trollope could bring some of the Wales magic to Cardiff City.
There is another meeting planned this week with Tans committee and Trollope.
What will be a major concern is the reaction of the Cardiff City fans, who have stuck with their ailing side this season but finally snapped on the terraces Burton Albion yesterday.
Cardiff City fans sang “Getting sacked in the morning” “Trollope for England” and “Trollope Out”
The club cannot afford home attendances to drop further and there is already a growing sense of apathy in the fanbase.
Cardiff City currently have 11,500 season ticket holders this season, but even though the current home average on paper are currently about 14,500,their has actually been attendances as low as 10,500 in actual attendances at the Cardiff City Stadium, resulting in many part-time jobs being reduced by club senior staff.
With ticket sales low,Sponsorship down considerably and merchandise sales down by more than half on last season,CEO Ken Choo will be told by owner Vincent Tan to make en more cut backs as already the club is still losing £1million a month.
Can Cardiff City afford to bring another manager?
If Paul Trollope is sacked this month or next month, will Tan give the managers job to Lennie Lawrence,a youth team manager or even an Academy manager?
Paul Trollope was central to their plans for the new ‘Bluebirds Way’ and they have not just invested in him, but his philosophy, ‘way of working’ and his backroom staff.
The sense has been that they would be loathe to make such an early change and clearly, there are significant financial implications too.
Vincent Tan chose Paul Trollope himself and hates to be proven wrong.
Say they brought in an outsider?
What happens if their preferred candidate wants to bring in their own backroom staff? What happens in January when the new boss would want to make his own mark on the squad?
All in all, they will want Trollope to prove he can make the ‘Bluebirds Way’.
Bluebirds chiefs had hoped Trollope could bring some of the Wales magic to Cardiff
It was said before the Rotherham game that Trollope would get a ‘fair’ amount of time. By that, did they mean these three games against sides in the lower half of the league?
Perhaps they were looking to the next international break in November, by which time they will have played Bristol City, Sheffield Wednesday, Nottingham Forest, Wigan Athletic and Newcastle United.
At that point, Cardiff will have played their fair share of games and there will be no doubt in what Paul Trollope can achieve.
