‘ JOE BENNETT ‘

Joe Bennett Signed from Aston Villa on a Free transfer on 26th August 2016,injured,but given a contract on approx £15,000 a week by Cardiff City and still yet to play for Cardiff.
Joe Bennett’s lack of game time so far this season, zero is due not to tactical reasons but a persistent calf injury that has hampered him since his arrival and is still not 100%.

That has cost his side, with his addition spurring a belief in the Bluebirds camp that the pace of Fabio in the wide areas would not be missed in the long-term.

A free transfer late in the window, Bennett’s signing was cautiously well received by fans, but inside the club there was palpable delight.

The Cardiff City Committee felt they had pulled off a real coup and there are high hopes for the 26-year-old.

City have been paying Bennett £15,000 a week since 26th August and now need him to pay it back on the pitch.

He may have lost his way at Aston Villa which is more than two years ago since Bennett has prominently featured, but for a time was making great strides under Paul Lambert in 2012-2014.

Pacey and versatile, alongside Harris and Dec John he could turn that left flank into something of an engine room for Cardiff. It’s something they desperately need.

Bennett if all goes well in training over the next two weeks is expected to play at home to Bristol City on the 14th October, but will probably be eased in as a sub first of all.
