‘ VINCENT TAN / NEIL WARNOCK ‘

Neil Warnock:”I have spoken to Vincent Tan every day, and we haven’t fallen out yet! He sounds excited on the phone, I judge people how I find them.”

Mehmet Dalan – “We just seem to gel together to be honest. You’ve got to strive to get to the top, and you do that better when you have a good working relationship I’ve had good talks with Ken, I understand him now – he talks so fast!”

‘ WELL ITS FINALLY HAPPENED AFTER SEVEN YEARS OWNING CARDIFF CITY & EIGHT MANAGERS ‘

NEIL WARNOCK NOW WORKS FOR VINCENT TAN & CARDIFF CITY

Neil Warnock and Vincent Tan. Two strong-willed, straight talking, highly successful individuals suddenly working together.

It’s a potentially combustible mix. But it is one that simply MUST work for the good of Cardiff City.

If it does, suddenly the limits become sky high again for the Bluebirds and maybe Tan will be re-energised by a man with a proven record of success as a Championship manager.

Ask Cardiff fans who they have wanted to become boss in recent years and four names tended to crop up. Warnock, Tony Pulis, Craig Bellamy and, just occasionally, Ryan Giggs.
“He won’t work for Tan,” ‘he won’t work for Tan,” we kept hearing. Or “Tan won’t spend big on a top manager,” “Tan wants a yes-man,” that sort of thing.

Well, Warnock HAS chosen to work for Tan and the club’s Malaysian owner HAS chosen to push the boat out to land his man. So those two theories need to be put to bed, at least.

We still have that cocktail combination at the very top of the club. A no-nonsense manager who will insist on running the team HIS way; an owner who will want some sort of involvement.

But Warnock and Tan can manage that scenario between themselves.

Maybe Warnock, because of his status in the game, will be afforded a little more latitude than some fans felt perhaps one or two of his predecessors were always given.
