Warnock said today “I have to show Cardiff, but the club also have to show me. I want to know the club can do what Brighton are doing. It’s got to be both ways. I will do my bit to show them what I can do, and the club have to show me. It’s all together.”

PLUS Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock has revealed his plans to sign new players before the Aston Villa home match on January 2nd 2017.

Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock has revealed he will try and bring new players into the squad the exact day the January transfer window opens.

Warnock has already got three players lined up, that he already knows and hopes to bring in more, but that will depend on how many Warnock can get rid of from City’s existing squad.

From the first team squad Warnock would like to move on at least 5 players,Bruno Manga is one and has already been told and City will demand a fee, some of the others City would like to reduce their wage bill and Warnock will have to get rid before brining in more than three new players.

Warnock has already told 10 Under 23 Cardiff players they can go this January.

City face Aston Villa at home on January 2nd, with any player having to be registered in enough time to be eligible to play. Warnock is trying to establish whether he will be able to do so on New Year’s Day.

Warnock said: “I’m not sure we can actually sign players on the 1st of January to play in that game [Aston Villa], I’m trying to make enquiries at the moment. Knowing our luck it’ll probably be the 3rd of January with the FA won’t it.

“I wanted to give Steve Bruce a tougher game if I’m honest.”
Neil Warnock also said: “That’s what we want to be (a club on the up), I have to show Cardiff, but the club also have to show me. I want to know the club can do what Brighton are doing. It’s got to be both ways. I will do my bit to show them what I can do, and the club have to show me. It’s all together.”

“This club is waiting like a Brighton, really. I’d like to think that this club in the next 12 months could be looking to do what they’ve done, and that is slimline the squad, then bringing in better players into positions.”
