After another narrow defeat for Cardiff City yesterday against Norwich City, after virtually the same happening against Reading and Brighton.

Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock: “Our players showed character kept pushing and pushing for a late equaliser, but it wasn’t to be,we lacked an attacking spark,” as Warnock freely admitted.

He added: “I thought there were a couple of lads below par but the subs brightened it up.”

“We were just not clinical enough, but I think we’ve shown we can compete with clubs paying £7million for players. I’m pleased with how we’re getting on really.

“But to be fair, with the money they spent on their squad, our goalkeeper didn’t have too much to do. It’s just the creativity and the clinical finishing that we miss really.”

“Just a few more players and we will be right up there and beating sides like Norwich”
